Welcome to our new NPQ update bulletin, sharing key information to our participants on the National Professional Qualification Programmes.
We aim to use this update as a way to share key dates for cohorts, general updates from ourselves or our partners, Ambition Institute, and case studies from colleagues to share how they have made use of their study on the programme to support them in their school settings to support the NPQ network. We will also cover any commonly asked questions to share with colleagues so if you would like to share your experiences of how the NPQ has influenced your approach in school, please do get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
Changes in our approach to supporting colleagues
You may have noticed that we now have a dedicated mailbox set up to support participants on the programmes NPQ@DRET.co.uk. Please direct your questions to this mailbox so we can support you effectively.
Please note that moving forward, catch-up materials for clinics will be issued centrally via Steplab for you to access within approximately seven days after the delivery of clinic sessions. We will no longer distribute recordings of sessions. There are no catch-up materials issued for community sessions.
Joining Zoom links for all of clinic and community sessions will be accessed via MyAmbition>Events. We will no longer send email reminders containing joining links; please use MyAmbition and welcome packs to schedule all programme dates into your working calendar.
Finally, we have been made aware that some buddies are unable to align their working times to work on Apply modules together. On the rare occasion that you and your buddy group are unable to meet, you are able to complete the Apply modules individually, though we do advise that working through this with a buddy is preferable. If you are unable to meet with your current buddy, please do contact us directly to rearrange your buddy grouping to ensure that you have a colleague to work with over the duration of the programme.
November 21 cohorts
NPQ specialist cohort participants are in the final days of completing and submitting their assessments for the programme. As the inaugural cohort of the reformed programmes, we wish these colleagues the very best of luck in these final stages. We look forward to celebrating this milestone achievement with colleagues shortly.

To those colleagues on specialist cohorts, completion of programme content deadline will be Friday 13th January. We will send a direct communication to colleagues sharing details of the upcoming assessment clinic on the 25th January and how colleagues can prepare for the assessment following the final clinic

Autumn 22 cohorts
We were delighted to meet NPQ specialist participants at their launch conferences last month and look forward to meeting leadership NPQ participants this week for their launch conferences. Following launch conferences, colleagues should liaise with their working buddies to set up a regular slot to work on Apply Modules, and begin to access weekly study content ahead of their clinic and community sessions.
